My professional experience in human genetics and healthcare, combined with my lived experience poise me to best guide you through the foundational principals of health equity. It can often be a difficult process to identify ingrained and systemic biases that hinder our progression. I would love to journey with you to unpack these and move on to more promising practices.
We recently had Lydia-Joi Marshall speak at our annual Black Futures Symposium for secondary students. Lydia was well received by the students in attendance and engaged with our students on a personal level that was relatable to them. She spent extra time listening and engaging with other speakers on the panel and made time to listen and interact with students. Lydia provided a narrative for our student that showed her commitment and passion for social justice and many in attendance enjoyed learning about her personal and professional experiences in the health sciences.Lydia proved to be a great role model for our students and a wonderful speaker for our event.”
